As Billy Madison is passing the first grade, he says, "I drew the duck blue because I've never seen a blue duck before, and to be honest with you, I wanted to see a blue duck."
It's a throwaway line in a goofy movie.
But isn't that really what art is?
Isn't art just creating something we wanted to see that hadn't been seen before?
Some people will see a blue duck and not understand why it is blue, while others will see a blue duck and think it is a masterpiece.
Your job doesn't have to be explaining the blue duck.
Your job is to create more blue ducks for those who want to see a blue duck.
